Styled in a sleek black finish, the AE44-5 Applause Elite is an acoustic/electric guitar from Ovationwhich features a mid-depth Lyrachord bowl with a single cutaway, and a spruce top with scalloped "X" bracing. If projection on a stage is your primary goal, then this acoustic electric guitar is more than up for the job: the body and resonant spruce top allow for clear articulation, while multiple soundholes on the upper and lower bouts facilitate a strong low end. Multi-wood epaulettes and a rosewood bridge round out the body. Its two-piece nato mahogany neck has a 25.25" scale with a 10" radius and is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard which has 20 fully accessible frets—24 for the high E string—and demarcated by white dot inlays. A set of chrome die-cast tuners secure the strings at the headstock.
